Retired after 27 years of service at the Indian public service broadcaster Doordarshan, a division of Prasar Bharati a.k.a. Broadcasting Corporation of India, Mr. Chandra Mouli is a post graduate in Psychology from the University of Mysore, India and Masters in Public Health from Boston University, USA.
Before joining All India Radio (AIR) in 1985, he had served at the National Institute of Rural Development, Hyderabad, and the Population Centre, Bangalore. His tenure in Prasar Bharati is known for the innovative studies he did to ensure strong efficacy of Radio and an impactful television network. Some of the studies drew both national and international attention.
He was also responsible for starting a new trend in AIR that made Radio interactive and put in place a two way system of broadcasting. Three of his research reports won the prestigious Akashsvani Annual Awards. During this period, he wrote as many as 300 Reports and around 200 articles. He was on all Audition committees in Doordarshan and AIR.
Mr. Chandra Mouli has been a regular visiting faculty in the universities of Karnataka for the past 25 years. He was the Visiting Professor at the Department of Electronic Media, Bangalore University from 2004-2009 and regular Professor at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bangalore.
In addition, he is serving as a Member on the Board of Studies and Board of Examinations of all the universities of Karnataka. He has also been associated with several committees constituted by the Government of Karnataka like Vision 2020. Currently, he is working as a full-time faculty at the Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication, Bangalore.
