Amit Khare IAS Assumes Charge as Information Secretary

Amit Khare, IAS (Jharkhand: 1985) assumed charge on Thursday as Secretary in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (I&B) on superannuation of Narendra Kumar Sinha, IAS. Prior to his appointment, Khare was Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Jharkhand.

During a career span of more than 33 years, Khare has held various field postings and has worked from grassroots to the higher levels of governance in both State and Central Governments.

Prior to being Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Jharkhand Khare served as Principal Secretary, Finance & Planning Department, Government of Jharkhand.

He has served as Member Secretary in the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India and Joint Secretary to the Government of India in the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development.

Khare is an MBA from IIM, Ahmedabad. He also has a Certificate in Public Administration from Syracuse University, USA.
