Big Fish Releases Mystery Case Files: 13th Skull

The story begins with the disappearance of Marcus Lawson, shortly after moving into a creepy mansion in Louisiana with his wife and daughter.

Marcus’ daughter, Magnolia, believes her father was kidnapped by the ghost of a vengeful pirate seeking to protect his lost fortune.

The locals are terrified of the pirate’s curse and it’s the players’ job to interview them, looking for clues and solving the mystery of what happened to Marcus.

The seventh episode of Big Fish Games’ Mystery Case Files series, Mystery Case Files: 13th Skull, is now available at www.bigfishgames.com for both PC and Mac, said the company Wednesday, Nov. 24.

The game contains interactive in-world video of 10 characters – some eccentric, some suspect – all of who possess important information needed to solve the mystery and play a key role in immersing the player deep into the heart of the game.

As computer gaming business is gaining momentum, even bigger players are quite active in the market.

Microsoft, for example, has decided to sell PC games through a Web store. It said the Games for Windows Marketplace will offer PC gamers an array of games. (Read: Windows Opening Gates for Games on Demand)

“As with every engrossing mystery, Mystery Case Files: 13th Skull offers rich and textured character development,” said Patrick Wylie, vice president of Big Fish Games Studios.

“The game is wonderfully cinematic; the film production techniques used in its development bring each character to life, adding depth and providing visual clues as players discover who’s lying and who’s telling the truth. Players get the experience of an enjoyably addictive mystery novel or movie, while the interactive element takes it a level deeper as objects and information are passed between players and characters.”
