Automaker Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), an official partner for International Cricket Council (ICC), handed over Saturday the ‘First Ball’ for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.

Hyundai holds the exclusive rights for the First Ball Handover before the opening match between Sri Lanka and New Zealand.

At the ceremony, the set of first balls were handed over by Sanjay Gupta, senior general manager & group head – Marketing, HMIL to the match umpire Simon Fry at Hagley Oval, Christchurch.

Hyundai’s ICC sponsorship began in 2011 when it first became the ‘Official Car Partner’ of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.

In 2012, Hyundai decided to take a step forward to be the ‘Official Partner’ of the ICC and partnered with seven ICC official tournaments from 2012 to 2015.

HMIL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company (HMC).
