Duracell Powers Holiday Smiles for Children

Duracell is bringing holiday cheer to families by partnering with Toys for Tots and committing to powering up to 500,000 smiles through its Power Holiday Smiles program.

The program offers consumers the chance to win the hottest holiday toys and gifts through an exclusive sweepstakes on Duracell’s Facebook page (Facebook.com/Duracell), while also allowing them to give back to children in need.

For every sweepstakes entry received on its Facebook page, Duracell (part of the Procter & Gamble Company), will donate a battery to Toys for Tots.

“For any child, there is nothing more disappointing than opening up a toy and finding that there are no batteries to power it,” said Volker Kuhn, general manager for Duracell North America.

“We’re proud to play a crucial role in those special gift giving moments for families in need, while giving consumers the chance to access the most popular toys and gifts.”

The Power Holiday Smiles Facebook sweepstakes, which starts on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, and runs through Dec. 20, will feature a giveaway for every hour of the day.

Hundreds of toys and gifts such as FURBY from Hasbro Inc.; LeapFrog Tag Junior Reading System and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 250GB Holiday Bundle will be accessible for consumers to win.

To help kick-off the program, Duracell also partnered with ABC Family’s “Pretty Little Liars” star and singer, Lucy Hale.

“The holiday season is such an important time to help those less fortunate. I’m excited to support Duracell’s campaign to power as many smiles as possible through this initiative to give back to kids in need,” said Hale.
