Analysis shows that the BJP-led group National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will easily get the majority giving BJP another chance to rule the country of 1.3 billion people.

As the voting for the 2019 Lok Sabha election ended today, a number of exit polls show that PM Narendra Modi’s party BJP will win again and Modi will be the PM for his second 5-year term.

According to the poll analysis, even if BJP does not get 272 seats to form the government, the BJP-led group National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will easily get the majority giving BJP another chance to rule the country of 1.3 billion people.

As expected, Congress has started blaming external factors for its possible debacle. Today, Congress president Rahul Gandhi counted a number of reasons that could result in Congress’s massive defeat. These include electronic voting machines (EVMs), electoral bonds, and the dubious working of the Election Commission of India (ECI) that according to him favored Modi and BJP.

“From Electoral Bonds and EVMs to manipulating the election schedule, NaMo TV, ‘Modi’s Army’ and now the drama in Kedarnath; the Election Commission’s capitulation before Mr Modi and his gang is obvious to all Indians. The EC used to be feared and respected. Not anymore,” Rahul Gandhi lamented as a defeated soul.

Although it is extremely difficult – or almost impossible – for Congress to form the government, even if by chance it gets support from all its alliance partners Congress cannot be in the driving seat and Rahul Gandhi cannot be the PM.

The counting of votes will take place on May 23.
