Hema Malini to Lead India-Russia Joint Film Project

Veteran Bollywood actress Hema Malini – who is a member of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi – will lead an Indo-Russian film project.

The new entertainment venture will attract artists from India, Russia, and Hollywood who will work in the film. Hema Malini confirms that Jackie Chang and Mel Gibson will be part of the project.

“As the chairperson of the Parliament Friendship group between Russia and India, we announced a co-production between the 2 countries,” Hema Malini tweeted, adding that it will be a blockbuster.

Married to Bollywood actor and politician Dharamendra, Hema Malini was the member of Rajya Sabha from 2003 to 2009. Later in 2014, she was elected to India’s Lok Sabha.

Hema Malini was participating last week in the closing ceremony of the celebration of 70 years of Indo-Russian friendship and the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
