Macy’s to Honor Thalia and Dora the Explorer

This fall in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Macy’s honors Latino-Americans contributions to fashion, music and culture in partnership with Vanidades, a Spanish language women’s lifestyle magazine.

With special events across the country, Macy’s is set to commemorate the cultural influence of the Latino community while also paying homage to two international stars and named this year’s Macy’s Icons of Style – singer, actress, author and fashion designer Thalia and Nickelodeon’s animated preschool heroine Dora the Explorer.

Thalia commented, “I am so honored Macy’s has chosen me as an Icon of Style for 2013. To be recognized as a Latina Icon of Style means a lot to me and am grateful to Macy’s for all they do to promote Hispanic Heritage. I am proud of my culture and think it comes through in everything I do – my passion for my family, my music, my writing and my personal style. I hope to always inspire and to be a positive Latina influence for others.”

Macy’s Hispanic Heritage events will take place at stores across the country including Santa Ana, New York City, Jersey City, Chicago, Miami, El Paso, West Covina, Glendale, Santa Clara, Bellevue, Gurnee, Atlanta, McAllen and Roseville.
