A former French president Francois Hollande has refuted Modi government’s claims that Dassault Aviation, the maker of the Rafale jet, had selected Anil Ambani’s Reliance Defence as the India partner for 36 Rafale jet deal.

Hollande revealed Friday that the Indian government (headed by PM Narendra Modi) had proposed Ambani’s company. It is said that Ambani – who is a close friend of Modi – is under heavy debt and Modi wanted to help Ambani with this shady Rafale deal.

As the Rafale scam is being considered as the biggest fraud by any government in India or abroad, it has become a political hot potato which has the sufficient heat to burn the ruling party BJP headed by PM Modi.
