Six Flags Great America Kicks Off Fright Fest

Six Flags Great America kicks off its 21st season of Fright Fest presented by SNICKERS with new haunts, new shows and more scares. Starting October 1 and running weekends throughout October, the theme park transforms into a 100-acre fog-filled shadow-land of ghosts and ghouls.

Fright Fest, a Halloween event, returns this season with three haunted houses, five horrific scare zones, eight hair-raising shows and nearly 200 roaming monsters throughout the park.  Plus, you can enjoy more of your favorite rides with an eerie makeover.

“We are pushing the envelope with this year’s Fright Fest,” said Hank Salemi, Six Flags Great America park president. “Fright Fest returns for its 21st season with more monsters, scare zones, shows and an all-new haunted house, Massacre Medical Center. Fright Fest is going to be bigger and scarier than ever before.”

New this fall is an all-new haunted house, Massacre Medical Center. It’s a fight to survive for all who enter the 10,000-square-foot abandoned hospital located in County Fair. From the moment you’re admitted, Massacre Medical Center surrounds you with the sights and sounds pulled straight from your darkest nightmares.

This year also brings the return of several Fright Fest classics including the award-winning show “Love at First Fright,” Susan Rosen the world-renowned hypnotist, scare zone Necropolis, haunted house Mausoleum of Terror and scare-free areas including the Character Candy Trail. Fright Fest staples, “Tiny” the famous 200 lb spider makes her return to the side of the America Eagle coaster as the 500 lb. inflatable gorilla takes his reign atop Sky Trek Tower.

Located between Chicago and Milwaukee, Six Flags Great America offers adventures for the entire family with 14 heart-pounding roller coasters, a free 20-acre water park, spectacular shows and three children’s areas.

Coming in 2012, Six Flags Great America welcomes X-Flight, a wing coaster with no track above or below. X-Flight is scheduled to open spring of 2012.

Six Flags Entertainment Corporation is a leading regional theme park company with 19 parks across the United States, Mexico and Canada.
