In a major diplomatic setback to India, the UN Security Council (UNSC) decreed Wednesday that Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Masood Azhar is not a terrorist.

India expressed its displeasure when Pakistan’s strong ally China for the 4th time blocked the UNSC move to declare Masood Azhar a global terrorist.

Congress reacted sharply today calling it a diplomatic failure of the Narendra Modi government which had been showing exaggerated affinity with China.

“With China having blocked India’s bid to designate Masood Azhar a global terrorist, the question on every Indian’s mind is, what was the use of all the swinging with Modi and President Xi?” Congress asked. “A terrorist responsible for such bloody murders is let off the hook again by the BJP.”

As India’s Prime Minister (PM) Modi is fond of roaming around the world aimlessly, last year in April he went to meet the President of People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, for an informal, purposeless meeting in Wuhan, China.

Since Modi is an illiterate politician, he does not have any knowledge of foreign affairs and other subjects that are crucial for the governance in a country. During his multiple meetings with President Xi Jinping, Modi could not win China’s favors.

Eralier, China had warned India of serious consequences if the Indian troops dared to enter Chinese territory. China’s warning stated that the entry of Indian border troops into Chinese territory is illegal which cannot be backed by any historic facts or legal basis.

China claimed that “Indian troops illegally crossed the delimited Sikkim section of the China-India boundary and obstructed the normal activities of Chinese border troops in Doklam.

It is observed that Modi stays completely silent on the escalating military tensions on India-China and India-Pakistan borders and he never openly challenges China or Pakistan.

Congress says Modi falsely believes that talking tough in election rallies is the same as being tough on China or Pakistan on the diplomatic front.

India claims that Masood Azhar’s organization JeM had taken responsibility for the February 14 Pulwama terror attack in which over 40 Indian policemen had died, although Pakistan has dismissed India’s allegations.

While opposition political parties in India have been raising doubts about the Pulwama incident, they allege that Modi and BJP have used Pulwama as a marketing tool to attract Indian voters before the crucial Lok Sabha election.
