Go Red for Women with Love for Their Heart

Jewelry Television (JTV) is showing its support for the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement by launching “Love Your Heart,” a multimedia initiative aimed at raising awareness and educating viewers about the risks of heart disease.

According to American Heart Association, heart disease is still the No. 1 killer of women, taking the life of 1 in 3 women each year. This means women – mothers, sisters, friends – are dying at the rate of one per minute because they don’t know what you know: heart disease kills.

Also, Diet Coke and Heidi Klum joined forces on February 1 to raise awareness and funds for women’s heart health education and research. February is American Heart Month, and for the fourth consecutive year, Diet Coke is partnering with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute to support The Heart Truth campaign. “Ninety percent of our customers are women,” said Tim Matthews, CEO of JTV, “and ironically, ninety percent of women have one or more risk factors for developing heart disease.  We view our support of this movement as an opportunity to ignite passion among the millions of women who shop with us. JTV wants the customers we value to make it their mission to fight heart disease.”

The “Love Your Heart” initiative includes the following elements:

  • JTV decided to “Go Red For Women” for 24 hours on Friday, Feb. 4 encouraging viewers to make it their mission to tell 5 women you want them to live, and we can help stop heart disease in our lifetime.
  • JTV is releasing a limited edition “Love Your Heart” necklace to remind women to make it their mission to fight heart disease.
  • Customers will be offered the opportunity to add $1 or more to purchases to help fund important research and educational programs for the Go Red For Women movement.
  • JTV is contributing money as well as airtime and other media resources in support of the Go Red For Women movement.
