Campaign for the Presidential Election in Afghanistan

According to Ashraf Ghani Campaign, Dr. Ashraf Ghani has become the clear front-runner in the race to be the next president of Afghanistan.

Despite the recent Taliban attacks in Kabul, Dr. Ghani’s campaign has gained significant momentum. Endorsements continue to pour in from each of the 34 provinces, claims the Campaign through a statement issued Monday.

Presidential elections will be held in Afghanistan on April 5, 2014.

It’s reported that incumbent President Hamid Karzai will not be eligible to run due to term limits.

A total of 11 candidates are in the fray.

Opinion polls indicate Abdullah Abdullah and Ashraf Ghani as the front-runners.
