How to Simply Win Your Dream Home
The spectacular home, nestled beneath the magnificent Mt. Mansfield, is part of a $2 million grand-prize package that includes a 2011 GMC Acadia Denali and $500,000 cash.
The prize will be awarded to one lucky viewer in March, 2011. Until then, online users can see a photo gallery and a 360-degree virtual tour of the custom-designed home at HGTV.com/dreamhome.
HGTV will showcase its newest HGTV Dream Home, a fully furnished, modern rustic mountain home in Stowe, Vermont during the HGTV Dream Home 2011 special on New Year’s Day, at 1 p.m. ET/10:00 a.m. PT.
[ Also Read: Adam Wins a House of $1.5 Million from TV Contest ]The HGTV Dream Home Giveaway 2011 will be open for entries beginning Saturday, Jan. 1 at 9 a.m. ET through Friday, Feb. 18 at 5 p.m. ET.
Entrants may enter once per day on HGTV.com as well as once per day on HGTV’s Frontdoor.com or as often as they wish by regular mail, the company informs.
The design of the nearly 3,400-square-foot HGTV Dream Home, located in Spruce Peak at Stowe Mountain Resort, was inspired by late-19th-century Adirondack mountain-retreat style.
It has three bedrooms, including a ‘ski dorm’ that sleeps eight, three and a half bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen and two family gathering spaces with lots of natural light.
“The 2011 HGTV Dream Home is our first in Vermont and allows us to showcase the features and attractions that make its location so desirable, including the area’s breathtaking scenery and year-round outdoor activities,” said Jim Samples, president, HGTV.
“Stowe is a vacation wonderland and the perfect site for our 15th anniversary home.”
During the January television special, host Monica Pedersen, HGTV Dream Home interior designer Linda Woodrum and House Planner Jack Thomasson will take viewers on a visual excursion that includes every room in the house.

HGTV designer John Gidding from Curb Appeal: The Block will introduce viewers to the home’s panoramic views, including a landscape designed with outdoor entertaining in mind.
Viewers can tune in to find out who wins the spectacular home during HGTV Dream Home Giveaway 2011 on Saturday, March 19, at 8 p.m. ET.
