LG on Greener Living Tour with Good Housekeeping

With National Energy Awareness Month around the corner, LG Electronics and Good Housekeeping announced Thursday the launch of the Greener Living Tour.

It is a five-city farmers market circuit, designed to educate consumers on how to live healthier and greener – with the help of fresh foods and efficient products.

The Greener Living Tour will kick-off in New York, head to Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and finish in Los Angeles.

“Now more than ever, our readers are relying on us to help them cut through the clutter of claims to find products that really perform as promised, and one of the many ways we do this is with the Good Housekeeping Seal,” said Miriam Arond, director of the Good Housekeeping Research Institute.

“As a Good Housekeeping Seal-holder, LG is an ideal partner for the Greener Living Tour because we’re confident in the quality products they provide for consumers.”

At each visit on the six-week tour, a raw food chef will perform cooking demonstrations using locally grown seasonal produce stored in LG’s new energy-efficient, French-door refrigerator.

Tour dates and locations are as follows:

  • September 17 – New York, N.Y. Union Square Greenmarket Farmers Market (University Pl. between 13th and 14th Streets)
  • September 24 – Seattle, Wash. U District Market
  • October 1 – Portland, Ore. Portland Farmers Market
  • October 8 – San Francisco, Calif. Ferry Building Farmers Market
  • October 22 – Los Angeles, Calif. Original Farmers Market

Founded in 1885, Good Housekeeping ( www.goodhousekeeping.com ) magazine is claimed to be reaching nearly 25 million readers each month.  In addition to the print title, there is The Good Housekeeping Research Institute, the consumer product evaluation laboratory of Good Housekeeping magazine.
