In honor of their gold medal in the women’s team competition at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, Kellogg’s announced Wednesday that the U.S. women’s gold medal-winning gymnastics team will be featured on special-edition boxes of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes which will be on shelves this fall.

Kellogg Company is an official sponsor of the United States Olympic Committee and USA Gymnastics.  The box will feature team members, Gabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Aly Raisman, Kyla Ross and Jordyn Wieber.

“The women’s team made history last week becoming the first team to capture gold since the 1996 Olympic Games,” said USA Gymnastics president, Steve Penny.  “We’re thrilled that the success of the team can be celebrated with consumers everywhere with the special-edition box of Kellogg Corn Flakes.  Fans will also be able to see the women’s team and other gymnastic stars in action this fall as part of the Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics.”

“From the start of their careers to the great things they achieved in London, the entire country can be extremely proud of these young athletes,” said Doug VanDeVelde, senior vice president of Morning Foods, Kellogg Company. “We are honored to bring that into the homes of families across the country both through this special edition box as well as the Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics.”

The 2012 Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics Champions, a 40-city national tour featuring Team USA’s top performing gymnasts, will kick off in San Jose, California on September 8, 2012.
