Speaking at a rally in Gandhi Maidan, Patna, Congress President Sonia Gandhi said Sunday Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi has reneged on all the promises he made to the people of India.

“PM Modi had promised creation of one crore (10 million) jobs for youth every year. Has he delivered?” she asked the people of Bihar. “Leave alone creating new jobs, he has created hurdles in getting even government jobs.”

She pointed out how the BJP-government, through the Vyapam scam, has ruined the future of lakhs of youngsters.

Sonia Gandhi also said that Modi-government has made the lives of farmers miserable, forcing many of them to take the extreme step.

“They had promised a Minimum Support Price, which they assured would be 50% over and above the cost of production. Have they delivered? They have done exactly the opposite, because of which farmers of India are in a state of extreme crisis. Modi-government is Kissan Virodhi (anti-farmer). They want to snatch the land of farmers and gift it to a few corporate friends of PM Modi,” said Sonia Gandhi.

“Prices are rising, rupee is falling, but Modi doesn’t want to speak about it. He is on a Maun Vrat. The people of India, the people of Bihar will have to think whether PM Modi who made tall promises and boasted of a 56-inch chest, is trustworthy. PM Modi is not trustworthy,” said Sonia Gandhi.
