Computer systems analyst, public relations manager, dental hygienist and physical therapist have been named among the best jobs for women in a new CareerCast report.
It identifies professions that provide a competitive salary, positive hiring outlook, and employ a high number of women in the field.
In 2012, 57.7 percent of all women in the U.S. were in the labor force, and the women’s civilian labor force is expected to increase by 9 percent or 6,462,000 through 2018, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
“As more women continue to enter the workforce, more careers are emerging to provide an equal opportunity to succeed both professionally and financially,” says Tony Lee, publisher, CareerCast. “The professions we have identified pay well, have a large percentage of women working in the field and are expected to offer solid opportunities for growth.”
In the IT sector, for example, opportunities for women have grown dramatically in the 21st century, and the continued importance of IT in all phases of the American economic and workforce will translate into a more diverse hiring landscape.
