Rapstar Coming with Kinect for Xbox 360

Konami Digital Entertainment and Autumn Games have announced that Def Jam Rapstar is now compatible with Kinect for Xbox 360, specifically offering video recording via Kinect.

Kinect is now available at more than 60,000 retailers in 38 countries. It is a controller-free games and entertainment system that lets you control games, movies, music and television with gestures and your voice.

Microsoft launched Kinect in North America on Nov. 4, followed by Europe on Nov. 10, in Asia on Nov. 18, and Japan (Nov. 20). (Read: Kinect for Xbox 360: Over 2.5 Million in 25 Days)

“Adding Kinect to the Def Jam Rapstar experience is an exciting event for us,” said Alex Collmer, CEO of Autumn Games.

“We live in a self-broadcast culture. Now, every Def Jam Rapstar player with a Kinect for Xbox 360 is potentially one song away from fame–within their own social network or on a global level through the online Def Jam Rapstar Community.”

The premiere emcee experience for video game consoles, Def Jam Rapstar makes the world your stage by rhyming along to more than 40 of the greatest Hip Hop tracks ever created, says Autumn Games.

Players can use Kinect cameras to record and customize videos using the in-game editing tools, then upload videos to the fully integrated Def Jam Rapstar community at www.defjamrapstar.com.

From the online community, players can share videos across their online social networks, battle other emcees, comment on videos, and much more.

The game also offers players the ability to freestyle over tracks by some of the hottest hip hop producers and upload freestyle performances for the world to see and judge.
