TD Bank’s Dancing Doctors Educate Consumers

TD Bank, America’s leading bank, hosted a Flash Mob Tuesday in Times Square to inspire consumers to get a free “checking checkup.”

TD Bank employees from New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut, as well as local New York dancers donned doctors’ scrubs and danced into the heart and heads of tourists and New Yorkers as they performed a WOWza dance routine to get consumers’ attention that now, more than ever, they need to take a closer look at their checking products.

With upcoming changes to checking products, TD Bank wanted to find a fun way to educate consumers on the many changes being implemented by banks nationwide.

“Customers need to understand all of the new industry changes that are affecting checking products,” said John Rosenfeld, head of deposit products, TD Bank.

“A Flash Mob was a fun way for our dedicated employees to educate everyone on the industry changes and encourage them to get a ‘checking checkup’ to determine which type of account best fits their financial needs.”

The bank has also set a viral spark to its education program by tapping social media to launch a series of educational YouTube videos (TDBankUS) and live weekly Twitterviews (Q&A).

“Following the Flash Mob on May 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and every Wednesday in May, TD Bank experts will be available for a live #checkingcheckup on twitter @TDBank_US to answer consumer questions and share tips and advice,” says Rosenfeld.
