Call to Artists: The Beverly Hills Art Show

The City of Beverly Hills is seeking fine artists to display and sell their art at its two-day art fair, The Beverly Hills Art Show – Affaire In The Gardens, to be held on May 21st and 22nd, 2011 in Beverly Gardens, a long green oasis in the historic heart of town. 

The deadline to apply to the art show is Feb. 14.

Similarly, the Art Institutes and Americans for the Arts have announced they are seeking entries for their eighth annual Poster Design Competition.

The Competition challenges entrants to submit a poster that addresses the theme, “Life is better with art in it.” The national winners will earn up to a full-tuition scholarship to one of The Art Institutes schools. (Read: Why Life is better with Art in It)

And THQ Inc., a leading worldwide developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software, invited users of the uDraw GameTablet to take part in its first ever online contest. (Read: Art Contest to Promote Game Tablet)

For the Beverly Hills Art Show, fine artists working in the categories of Painting, Sculpture, Drawing, Printmaking, Photography, Ceramics & Glass, Mixed Media and New/Digital Media Categories can apply.

An additional special theme of this show will be combustion and fire; any artist working with these concepts is encouraged to get in touch with the art show office, informed the City of Beverly Hills on Monday, Jan. 24.
