The Red Sox Foundation partnered with Hasbro to create these special limited edition 2013 Red Sox Mr. Potato Head Spuds with their iconic beards to celebrate this year’s World Series.

Only four each of six players — Dustin Pedroia, David Ortiz, Jonny Gomes, Mike Napoli, Shane Victorino and Jarrod Saltalamacchia — have been custom-made by Hasbro’s design team.

A classic rite of passage for most, the Mr. Potato Head toy is one of Hasbro’s most cherished characters. Over the past 60 years, it has evolved from a toy box classic into a pop culture icon.

The Red Sox Foundation is auctioning two sets to benefit its charitable programming and one set will be auctioned at a later date to benefit Hasbro Children’s Hospital. It was announced Friday.
