Although Kejriwal had won the assembly election with the promise to weed out corruption from Delhi, the truth is that corruption is so rampant in almost every street of Delhi that Kejriwal and Delhi government have failed to check it.

In order to woo the voters for the upcoming MCD election, BJP Yuva Morcha president Sunil Yadav and local workers initiated Pol-Khol Abhiyan against the corruption and nepotism in Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi on Tuesday.

Under this campaign, the workers apprised the people about the corruption and nepotism of these parties in and around Connaught Place circle and Hanuman temple.

The youth workers of BJP distributed pamphlets about the scams and corruption of Aam Aadmi Party and Congress including the Jal Board Tanker Scam, 2G Scam, CWG Scam, and Rs. 16000 per plate dinner scam.

Yadav said that it is quite strange that sometime ago Kejriwal used to frighten former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit by showing Shunglu Committee Report and now he is himself avoiding to talk about Shunglu Committee’s recent findings.

Although Kejriwal had won the assembly election with the promise to weed out corruption from Delhi, the truth is that corruption is so rampant in almost every street of Delhi that Kejriwal and Delhi government have failed to check it.

Worse, Kejriwal’s own government is facing serious corruption charges. Last year, the lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung had set up an expert committee – called the Shunglu Committee – to examine over 400 files for financial and administrative irregularities committed by Kejriwal’s government.

While the Shunglu Committee had submitted its report in November last year, it is stated that the report has found serious cases of fraud, cheating, and misappropriation of funds in Kejriwal’s Delhi government.

Recently, Kejriwal – who had won the Delhi assembly election 2 years ago with the promise to end corruption – had admitted that corruption is still rampant in his regime.

BJP’s Yadav said that Kejriwal’s politics was born out of fight against corruption but Kejriwal is himself completely involved in corruption.

Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday registered a preliminary case against Kejriwal’s health minister Satyendra Jain over allegations of money laundering. Satyendra Jain – who also figures in the Shunglu Committee report – is believed to be one of the most corrupt politicians in Kejriwal’s team.

However, instead of throwing Jain out of the government, Kejriwal defended him by saying that the BJP government is using CBI as a weapon to harm his minister.

The appointment of Jain’s daughter Soumya Jain to the health department has been mentioned as a case of nepotism in the Shunglu Committee report.

The MCD election is scheduled to take place on April 23, 2017.
