Mercedes-Benz Cars Star in Fashion Social Network

Mercedes-Benz is empowering fashion enthusiasts to explore their personal style through a social platform that allows for the creation of virtual “sets” powered by Polyvore.

The Star Style Challenge initiative www.mbstarstyle.com kicks-off Tuesday to usher in the start of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center and continues through Feb. 16, 2012.

The Star Style Challenge platform incorporates imagery of inspirational fashions and Mercedes-Benz cars allowing fashion enthusiasts to build “sets,” ala virtual mood boards.

It asks one simple question: What does ultimate star style look like on the red carpet at the Academy Awards?  Mercedes-Benz Presents Designer, Naeem Khan, and other notable accessories from Ranjana Khan and Bowens Bergeron can be selected as part of the set creation.

“Mercedes-Benz vehicles have always been an expression of individualism and style,” said Lisa Holladay, manager of brand experience marketing at Mercedes-Benz USA.  “We are excited to see where people will take their inspiration when they have an opportunity to incorporate the three-pointed star.”

Winning the challenge is based on originality of the designed set, and receiving community likes and comments.

Those attending Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center from Feb. 9-16, 2012 and have voted via mobile for their favorite set can receive a special Essie nail polish inspired by exclusive Mercedes-Benz designo vehicle paint colors.
