Disney to Release the Serpent’s Shadow

Disney Publishing Worldwide (DPW) has announced its plans in support of The Serpent’s Shadow, the third and final book in Kane Chronicles series by Rick Riordan. The Serpent’s Shadow book will be published on May 1, 2012, with a 2-million-copy first printing.

Fans will have the opportunity to join Rick Riordan in a live webcast from the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum & Planetarium in San Jose, California, on Tuesday, May 1.

The webcast will include a tour of actual Egyptian artifacts, a reading from the new book, and a chance to ask Rick live questions. For more information and to sign up for the webcast visit: slj.com/rickriordan.

Riordan will also embark on a multicity tour in the US and Canada, including: San Francisco, CA; Salt Lake City, UT; Vancouver, BC; Seattle, WA; Anchorage, AK; Portland, OR; and San Antonio, TX.

The Serpent’s Shadow releases simultaneously in hardcover and as an eBook from Disney Publishing’s Disney-Hyperion imprint and as an audio version through Brilliance Audio on May 1, 2012.

More than 30 million books are currently in print in the U.S. across Riordan’s three series from Disney-Hyperion Books: Percy Jackson & the Olympians, The Kane Chronicles, and The Heroes of Olympus. The books have been translated into 37 languages in 36 countries.
