Exporter Forum to Help California Small Businesses

Representative Mike Honda and Export-Import Bank Board Member Patricia Loui hosted Thursday an exporter forum for local companies in San Jose, California.

More than 100 small and medium-sized business owners attended the event, which focused on how American companies can successfully export their products overseas. Attendees also received one-on-one trade counseling from Export-Import Bank experts.

“With 95% of the world’s customers living outside the United States, it is critical that we encourage more small business owners to export their products overseas,” said Director Loui (pictured above).

“Exports create and sustain American jobs. Ex-Im Bank will continue to host forums across the country that educate small and medium-sized business owners about the benefits of exporting to key markets in Asia and beyond.”

Director Loui gave an overview of Export-Import Bank’s Global Access for Small-Business initiative, aimed at increasing the number of small businesses across the United States that export goods and services produced by U.S. Workers.

Global Access is supported by a wide variety of business, financial and government partners, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), and the Bank’s 60-plus city/state partners located throughout the U.S.

Export-Import Bank has hosted more than 50 Global Access forums around the country.

Ex-Im Bank is an independent federal agency that helps create and maintain U.S. jobs by filling gaps in private export financing at no cost to American taxpayers.
