Howie Mandel Stars in Pizza Web Series on Facebook

This is about the Red Baron “Real Deal” pizza campaign. To uncover delivery pizza misconceptions, the makers of Red Baron Pan Pizza have teamed up with Howie Mandel, comedian and TV host, for a series of six unscripted web videos with real families to expose the hidden costs of delivery pizza.

“Pizza delivery companies are deceiving consumers with notions of inexpensive pizza, but making them pay extra when they appear at the door for tip, delivery charge and whatever else they can come up with,” said Dan Hammer, senior vice president of marketing for Schwan’s Consumer Brands.

Red Baron products are sold by Schwan’s Consumer Brands, Inc., a subsidiary of The Schwan Food Company.

In each video, Howie surprises a pre-selected family or group of friends who then pop a Red Baron Pan Pizza in the oven while Howie simultaneously calls a national delivery chain to place an order.

These humorous videos feature a real exchange of an actual, unsuspecting and un-casted delivery driver dropping off pizza to Howie and his pizza fan hosts. Howie pits the Red Baron Pan Pizza and delivery pizza against each other with a detailed comparison and frank discussion of cost, quality, taste and total preparation time, and Red Baron Pan Pizza prevails as the tastier, warmer and preferred pizza, says the company.

New installments of the six-video web series will be released every Wednesday beginning today May 11, 2011 through June 15, 2011 on the Red Baron Pizza Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/RedBaronPizza.
