Bondi Helps Playboy Hug Digital Media

Asks Bondi: Why would you let more than 650 of your favorite Playmates celebrate the holidays in a damp garage, stashed under your bed or crowded together in the basement, when you can bring them all together beneath the mistletoe this year?

An attractive offering from Bondi Digital Publishing, every issue of Playboy magazine—from 1953 to 2010—is now available on a pocket-sized, travel-friendly 250GB hard drive, the company said Monday, Nov. 22.

Playboy is not alone that is embracing digital media. Recently, Adobe Systems announced that Martha Stewart Living’s debut digital publication was delivered using tools from the recently announced Adobe Digital Publishing Suite.

The result, a special 20th anniversary digital issue of Martha Stewart Living, subtitled “Boundless Beauty,” is now available for the iPad through the Apple App Store. (Read: Adobe Brings Boundless Beauty on iPad)

Likewise, Rodale Inc.’s Runner’s World has recently introduced the digital edition of the publication designed exclusively for iPad. It is available for purchase in the Apple App store for $4.99.

Runner’s World is claimed to be the first consumer running magazine to enter the iPad market.

The September issue of the magazine served as the title’s inaugural digital edition and was exclusively sponsored by Puma. (Read: Runner’s World Magazine on the iPad)

Now, there are over 650 issues and more than 100,000 pages covering a span of 56 years—all accessible on The Playboy Cover to Cover Hard Drive ($299.95).

It is a USB portable device that allows users to search, view, explore and organize the entire archive of digital editions—no power cord necessary.

The device is hot swappable, so there’s no need to restart after installation on your MAC or PC.

Users have immediate access to every issue from that first iconic Playboy featuring Marilyn Monroe in December 1953, all the way to the December 2009 edition featuring Chelsea Handler– and every issue, award-winning article and advertisement in between.
