West Bengal Chief Minister (CM) and Chairperson of All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) Mamata Banerjee today released the party’s manifesto for the 2019 Lok Sabha election.

She has categorically demanded a judicial probe monitored by a former supreme court judge into the demonetization decision that was arbitrarily announced by Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi.

Modi had demonetized currency notes of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 on November 8, 2016 with the belief that his decision will help check corruption and stop the flow of black money in the country. But his decision resulted in utter chaos in India.

Recently, she had introduced an interactive tool to expose the lies and falsehood of PM Modi. The web-based tool called Jumla Meter on AITC website claims that since 2014 PM Modi has been on a lying spree and he has been caught multiple times while lying. It quotes different sources to give examples of what Modi said and what the truth is.

According to the AITC manifesto, the party aims to generate employment for youth and students besides providing economic security to farmers.

The party will lay special emphasis on the empowerment of women, and to strengthen the federal structure, AITC will introduce a new model of Planning Commission.
