World Bar Arm Wrestling Event in Las Vegas

World heavyweight arm wrestling champion “Monster” Michael Todd and UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones will be featured when the 2013 World Bar Arm Wrestling Championships get under way August 24 in a live pay-per-view event from Stoney’s Rockin’ Country in Las Vegas.

Over 700 entrants representing 39 countries in nine weight classes will battle in this double-elimination event for the largest prize money ever offered for an arm wrestling competition. Top prizes range from $50,000, $20,000 and $10,000, depending on the weight class, according to Joe Hand Promotions Inc.

Jones, the youngest champion in UFC history, will host the event, while Todd, winner of 20 national titles in over five different weight classes, takes on Travis “The Beast” Bagent, owner of 21 national arm wrestling championships, in a $50,000 Super Match.

Providing commentary for the pay-per-view event will be “The World’s Most Dangerous Man,” Ken Shamrock, a legendary mixed-martial artist and UFC hall of famer. Also joining the event will be announcer Bruce Buffer, the “Veteran Voice of the Octagon” for the UFC.
