American Express Gold Rush on Facebook

American Express launches ‘The Great American Express Gold Rush,’ claimed to be UK’s first ever fantasy gold trading game on Facebook that has a prize fund of over £20,000, including solid gold bullion worth £10,000.

To celebrate the rewards offered by The American Express Preferred Rewards Gold Card, this new game capitalises on the fact that gold has never been more valuable, and will pit players of all levels against each other with daily trading challenges that span a month-long period.

Within the game, which can be found at www.amexgoldrush.co.uk, players will travel the world visiting well known destinations with the task of buying and selling gold for profit.

At the start of the game, players can invest in a variety of gold items including chains, rings, coins and bars before jetting between London, Paris, Dubai, Mexico City, Sydney and New York to trade their stock and make a profit. Players will also collect rewards points as they spend and trade.

In each city, local news stories influence the price of gold, so players must use their skills to make the right trading choices. Profits are accumulated during each daily game and players will receive a daily ranking based on the amount of profit they accrue.

The player with the highest ranking at the end of the day will be awarded a prize inspired by the Preferred Rewards Gold Card. Whilst wise decision making could see players reach the top of the leader board, savvy trading is a must, as a host of random events will change the game in the blink of an eye, says American Express.

At the end of the 30 day competition, which closes at 23.59 on 5th August 2011, the smartest (and the luckiest) player with the largest individual daily profit will walk away with solid gold bullion worth approximately £10,000, informs American Express.

The announcement was made today, July 7.
