As Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has become a real epitome of corruption, the opposition parties including BJP and Congress are demanding resignation of Kejriwal and the dissolution of Delhi government.

Now the BJP has found some serious irregularities in AAP’s donation records and has sought derecognition of AAP.

A delegation of Delhi BJP leaders led by its president Manoj Tiwari went to the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday to submit a complaint letter regarding irregularities in the donation records of AAP.

BJP’s complaint is based on a report shown by a TV channel and past experience about AAP removing its donation information from its party website.

The complaint raises the issue of AAP putting up different donation figures on the party website and submitting different donation figures before the ECI and the Income Tax Authorities during the financial years 2014-15 & 2013-14.

Tiwari has requested the ECI to order a thorough inquiry of the matter as – according to him – prima facie it is clear case of violation of the Representation of People Act 1951 and Election Symbol (Allotment & Reservation) Order 1968.

Therefore, BJP says an inquiry must be ordered and if the irregularities get established against AAP, its recognition should be withdrawn by the Election Commission.
