Executives and guests of FORTUNE magazine visited the New York Stock Exchange on Friday, May 6 to celebrate the May 5th launch of the annual FORTUNE 500 list, a ranking of the 500 largest corporations in the United States, ranked by revenue for the 2010 fiscal year.

It says 84% of the publicly traded companies are listed on the New York Stock Exchange. NYSE Euronext is in the S&P 500 index, and is the only exchange operator in the Fortune 500.
FORTUNE’s Managing Editor Andy Serwer rang The Closing Bell, joined by Publisher Jed Hartman and Deputy Managing Editor Hank Gilman.
