Directed by Academy Award nominee David O. Russell (Three Kings), The Fighter has received seven Academy Award nominations including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor (Christian Bale), Best Supporting Actress (Melissa Leo and Amy Adams), Best Original Screenplay and Best Editing.

Bale portrays Ward’s troubled older brother, Dicky Eklund, a role that has already earned him a Golden Globe, SAG and National Board of Review award for Best Supporting Actor, as well as awards from numerous regional film critics’ societies.
