Congress party under the leadership of its president Rahul Gandhi has almost crushed PM Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Assembly elections of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh in a crucial electoral contest before next year’s Lok Sabha election.

Results are declared for the Assembly elections held in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, and Mizoram. BJP could not win in any of the Assemblies.

Although there were reports of EVM (Electronic Voting Machine) frauds at some places, Congress overcome all the odds to win the elections.

In most previous elections, major opposition parties have complained that BJP wins the elections by tampering with EVMs. But it is largely believed that when EVMs work properly, it is almost impossible for Modi and BJP to win.

The crushing defeat that BJP has faced is a defeat for Modi because people have voted against Modi’s anti-people policies.

“Modi came to power based on issues of employment, corruption, and farmers. But the reality is that Modi was involved in Rafale corruption and failed on the remaining issues,” Rahul Gandhi said after the election results. He added that Congress also will defeat BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha election scheduled to happen in 2019.

Rahul Gandhi said.

“Democracy has won. Thank you India. You have chosen love over hate, peace over violence, and truth over lies. This victory is yours,” Congress said after its victory.
