Delhi BJP President Manoj Tiwari and Delhi incharge Shyam Jaju have said that Arvind Kejriwal government is taking a political revenge on the people of Delhi for defeating Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the recent municipal corporation elections.

Tiwari is leading a demonstration today outside Kejriwal’s residence to protest against power and water crises in Delhi.

According to Delhi BJP, the demonstration aims to expose the Delhi government’s failure on power and water supply. The party has also written to the Lt. Governor (LG) of Delhi Anil Baijal to call an all-party meet to discuss government’s failure to bring Power & Water Supply Summer Action Plan.

Tiwari said that the situation of power cuts and breakdowns which people are experiencing in Delhi is the result of criminal negligence on the part of Kejriwal government and its connivance with its private partners in Power Discoms.

Meanwhile, Kejriwal says that LG Baijal has agreed that Discoms should pay compensation for unscheduled power cuts to make them accountable.

But BJP argues there is no shortage of power or water availability for Delhi yet the people of Delhi are suffering because the Kejriwal government is all out to victimise the people for rejecting his Aam Aadmi Party in civic polls.

BJP revealed that the water plants are not working to their capacity while water leakages and thefts are going unchecked.

“Despite full availability of raw water from Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttrakhand, the people of Delhi are facing severe water shortage as Delhi Jal Board’s Water Plants at Chandrawal, Sonia Vihar, Dwarka, and Okhla are not working to their capacity. The supply from Water Plants these days is up to 35% less than their supply in early April 2017,” BJP said.

There are 4 to 5 identified major water leakage or theft points in each district of Delhi but the Kejriwal government has done nothing to check these, BJP said.
