Congress president Rahul Gandhi – who is emerging as a top Hindu leader with his patriotism for India – is receiving tremendous support from soldiers of the country.

In a meeting held with him in Delhi on Saturday, the top-ranking ex-servicemen of India narrated their stories of humiliation and persecution by the current government headed by Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi.

The top soldiers said that the Modi government is degrading their contributions to the nation by equating their ranks with the civilian officers and deploying the security forces for mundane political campaigns such as cleanliness drives of the government.

They also explained discrepancies in the Rafale deal in which corruption of Rs. 30,000 crore has been allegedly committed by the Modi government.

Rahul Gandhi said that Modi bypassed all procedures and sacked CBI director to give undue benefit in Rafale deal to his close associate Anil Ambani who is the Chairman of Reliance ADA group of companies.

It is alleged that the decision to purchase 36 Rafale aircraft from Dassault Aviation was taken arbitrarily by Modi when he was touring France. While Modi has visited more than 50 countries during the past 4 years of his tenure, it is largely believed that he goes to foreign countries frequently as a marketing agent of his corporate friends.

“Besides thrashing veterans at Jantar Mantar (protest site), Modi is telling lies and has broken his promises of giving One Rank One Pension (OROP) to forces,” Rahul Gandhi said.

The ex-servicemen added that the Modi government is posing a serious threat to the national security, as it has reduced the defence budget to a level that was in the 1960s.

They hoped that Congress – after defeating Modi’s BJP in the Lok Sabha election scheduled to happen in 2019 – will protect the rights of armed forces and save the country from disaster.
