President Trump is trying to threaten the FBI so that the agency should not share the contents of its interaction with Michael Flynn, who had to resign for his clandestine ties with top Russian officials.

Like a dictator, President Donald Trump is hell-bent to destroy the American democracy. After constantly attacking the judiciary and the media, now his new target is the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Although FBI is trying to maintain the security of the country, Trump has accused the apex agency of sharing the classified information with the media.

“The FBI is totally unable to stop the national security “leakers” that have permeated our government for a long time,” Trump said today. “They (FBI) can’t even find the leakers within the FBI itself.”

In a two-part tweet, Trump said classified information is being given to media that could have a devastating effect on the U.S. He also directed the FBI to find the people who are divulging information to the media.

But why is Trump so worried? Earlier this month, Trump’s National Security Adviser Michael Flynn had to resign for his clandestine ties with top Russian officials.

Plus, it is alleged that Flynn made false statements when he was interrogated by the FBI. As there is a strong possibility that Flynn knows about Trump’s secret business and political connections with Russia and President Vladimir Putin, Trump is trying to protect Flynn.

Although Flynn was removed for his lies and misleading statements, Trump said “Flynn was not wrong.” Strange but true.

Moreover, Trump is under severe pressure to release complete details of Flynn’s interview with the FBI. But Trump is trying hard to hide that information because that could reveal Trump’s own shady deals with Russia and other rogue nations.

National Security

While Trump says it is classified information, FBI must release it publicly because this information may be related to the national security which Trump is trying to attack systematically.

Similar views are expressed by Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts. She has urged the Congress to hold a bipartisan, transparent inquiry into Russia’s control over Trump and his administration, insisting that the national security is at stake.

Senator Warren wants to know about Trump’s connivance with Michael Flynn and other contacts that happened with Russia before or after the November election.

Plus, a petition expects Trump to be removed on charges of treason as, according to it, he has violated the USA Patriot Act for conspiring with Russia in tampering with the results of the 2016 election.

“He (Trump) and his administration are an immediate threat to national security and his use of intimidation as president presents undeniable challenges in this investigation,” the petition suggests.

Along with Trump, the petition also demands immediate removal of Vice President Mike Pence and all civil officers appointed under his rule, pending the results of his administration’s investigation.

The fear of impeachment is troubling Trump. He knows that further investigation of Flynn by the FBI will reveal Trump’s hidden ties with Russia. Then Trump will also be forced to release his tax returns that he has refused to show.

His tax returns may reveal about his shady business deals in different parts of the world, including Russia. It will also make Trump’s impeachment easier.

So, he is trying to threaten the FBI so that the agency should not share the contents of its interaction with Flynn. But it is expected that FBI will act in a professional manner in order to maintain the national security. If Trump is trying to stop FBI under coercion, it must release the information secretly for the benefit of American people at large.

The leaks will certainly manifest FBI agents’ patriotism, as the information that reveals the misdeeds of an official cannot be termed as classified.
