The idea of national emergency is part of the deceitful game that Trump has been playing to divert people’s attention from the Russia probe that special counsel Robert Mueller is leading.

After his false rhetoric that Mexico will pay for the border wall, now Donald Trump – who is a pathological liar – can say that North Korea will pay for the wall. He is known for making such reckless statements.

While Trump failed to get the money that he demanded to make a “big, beautiful wall” on the Mexican border to block the entry of illegal immigrants, he is expected to declare a national emergency.

Congress has passed a funding bill that provides just $1.375 billion for 55 miles of border fencing. This money is far less than the $5.7 billion that Trump had demanded for the U.S.-Mexico border wall.

Trump’s bete noire Speaker Nancy Pelosi denounced his attempt to declare national emergency which is in fact an arm-twisting tactic that Trump is applying to extort money for a wall that has no purpose.

“Trump couldn’t convince Mexico, the American people, or their elected representatives to pay for his ineffective and expensive wall, so now he’s trying an end-run around Congress in a desperate attempt to put taxpayers on the hook for it,” Pelosi said.

She added today that Democrats are sending legislation to the President’s desk to keep the government open. The Senate passed the funding bill with a 83-16 vote and the House cleared it with 300-128 before sending it to Trump. He is expected to sign it but has not ruled out the possibility of declaring national emergency.

In order to hoodwink his blind followers, Trump had always been saying that he will protect Americans from immigrants by stopping their entry with a wall and force Mexico to pay for it. But Mexico didn’t pay and ridiculed Trump’s suggestion.

Surprisingly, however, Trump’s supporters – most of whom are dumb – never questioned his blatant lies. Now, if – for instance – in order to woo the voters for the 2020 election he again makes some weird claim that he will convince his new friend Kim Jong Un of North Korea to pay for the U.S.-Mexico wall, they will accept his falsehood.

In fact, all these antics of Trump are aimed to keep the course of the national debate away from the multiple criminal investigations that he as well as his family members and friends are facing.

The idea of national emergency is part of the deceitful game that Trump has been playing to divert people’s attention from the Russia probe that special counsel Robert Mueller is leading with the help of a judicial team to know the extent of Trump-Russia ties that allegedly helped Trump win the 2016 presidential election.

“It is yet another demonstration of Trump’s naked contempt for the rule of law. This is not an emergency, and the President’s fear-mongering doesn’t make it one,” Pelosi said.

She added that declaring a national emergency would be a lawless act, a gross abuse of the power of the presidency, and a desperate attempt to distract from the fact that Trump broke his core promise to have Mexico pay for his wall.
