The U.S. President Donald Trump spoke Tuesday with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia.

The two leaders discussed the critical goals of preventing the financing of terrorist organizations and eliminating the promotion of extremism by any nation in the region.

Trump underscored that a united Gulf Cooperation Council is critical to defeating terrorism and promoting regional stability.

The Gulf Cooperation Council is a regional political organisation comprising the energy rich Gulf monarchies – Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
